Oh! To be a cat chilling in the sun among the daffodils on a crisp Sunday morning!
New and replanted bulbs update. More crocuses have sprouted and maybe one of the daffodil bulbs they are planted on top of. This is the last to bloom daffodil spot. The circle of daffodils in the warm area are mostly up but none in the cool circle. One daffodil in a container is up a little. The snowdrops are done blooming.
Everything is terrible with the world. So don’t forget to stop and look at the flowers. #bloomscrolling #daffodils #calm
Daffodils have instantly recognisable flowers. They are associated with Easter time and this drawing would be a great little Easter gift...

First signs of life in my back garden. The daffodils, that actually were from Amsterdam, we planted around the year 2000. In the foreground, a forsythia that my mum planted back in the 1950's.
Some #spring #daffodils in front of the soon-to-be-demolished Kilbroney House, Cregagh.
One little bunch has decided it’s Go Time.
Common as muck but you can't beat Tete a Tete for an early daffodil. What a gorgeous day, 17C here!
This week's featured poem on the Grammaticus blog is "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" by William Wordsworth - a wonderful ode to #daffodils
This poem speaks to me on a deeply intimate level. When I was a boy, a person very dear to me – my great-grandmother – passed away one springtime. Devastated by the sense of loss, I remember spending a lot of time in our backyard garden and sitting among the daffodils, telling them about my sadness. They were very good listeners!
Maybe I was just a weird kid, or maybe I saw in those golden flowers something that Wordsworth also recognized: their power to transform grief into joy.

In our South Saanich gardens
My little daffodil patch has put on quite a display this year. So cheery! These started out as a single stray daffodil that volunteered in our lawn (no idea where it came from - a bird must have planted it). I carefully transplanted it under the tree, and the patch has continued spreading since then.
This is happening at least a month too early.
"Spring In A Vase" ... my latest ... our #jonquils are breaking through the mulch in our garden beds about an inch ... exciting!!! So I dug up one of my photos from 2023 and had some fun playing in #CorelPainter last night.
