Last night's adventures in junior gardening included teaching young scouts about how our homes are like hotels between natural areas, how beans and peas create fertilizer plus food, and that violets make great jelly and have exploding seed pods.
They planted pansies, violets, snap peas, and black beans to take home in recycled containers. Yay, Plants!

The wisteria is exuberant this year. I have to go all the way out to it to smell its delightful fragrance, though, because our prevailing winds blow the scent away from the house.

A Western trillium (Trillium ovatum) after the rain. Currently in bloom on Vancouver Island. Actually the forest floor here at the moment is full of wildflowers and it's just lovely. Expect more photos.
