A pair of VR Class Sr1's in front of the "Santa Claus Express" at Helsinki Central, Finland
I usually drive newer electric classes (Sr2 and Sr3) and I prefer those over these. But variety is good I guess.
The second engine is no. 3111 which is in fact built in Finland from a spare chassis and spate parts. The class itself is from Soviet Union, with some western components.
Made a start on ballasting the track…weirdly therapeutic
Early tractors were wild. This here is a "road locomotive" plowing an entire field at once.
This morning I weathered a small section of track and laid in some ballast to see how easy it was and what it would look like.
Looks good to get a quality effect however is time consuming.

Today's side-by-side #stereoscopic photo: the locomotive on display at Keizer Station shopping center. Like the fleet, this is all lit up with fairy lamps. (That was a little joke for any Brits reading this.)
It's only just now occured to me that the mall is called Keizer Station because there was probably a train station here once.
