Tonight's Film: Double Indemnity
The most noir of film noirs. Pretty dark for a film under the Hayes Code & full of tension.
The second half loses steam a little but the ending is excellent which kind of makes up for it.

The cold-bloodedness of Wilder's #DoubleIndemnity is impressive. Stanwyck & MacMurray plan their murder with a matter-of-factness that is shameless and frightening even by today's standards. Shout to Stanwyck: Often copied as a femme fatale - never equalled.
