Question for especially those who rely on #alttext . Is there any value in using names of colors in a photograph? I see ones using “pink ribbon”, “blue sky”, “yellow flower ” and I would think that has little meaning. I’ve been switching to more use of “bright”, “vivid”, “multi-colored”, “subdued”, “dim”, etc. Asking for myself.

I'd also like all the porn shared on here to be ATTRIBUTED to the best ability of the people posting it, but that's an old mania of mine and I've long since made peace with the fact that most people don't share it or give even a tiny fuck about it.
As for the alt descriptions, I have OK vision but I'm still amazed how often I need (want) alt text to help me puzzle out WTAF I'm looking at. Being somewhat face-blind and color vision impaired no doubt contributes to that.

A bit of a tangent, but where did the #AltText come from, if you don’t mind my asking?
Good morning, Mastofriends and Fedifolk!
Now that my articles are submitted I have a little time for other things.
A few days ago I saw a post in which the alt-text was stuffed with hashtags; it seemed almost worse than no alt-text at all. But I'm curious: as the main purpose of hashtags here is to be findable in searches, do searches even see hashtags in alt-text?
