Cymbalaria muralis spreads quickly, growing 10–80 cm (3.9–31.5 in) tall.[4][5][6] It is a biennial or short lived perennial plant Its roots are thin and fibrous for reaching into cracks.[8] Its rounded, heart-shaped, or kidney shaped leaves are 5–40 mm long, 6–60 mm wide, and are alternating, supported on thin petioles, usually purple, 10–22 mm long The leaves are either smooth (glabrous) or with widely scattered hairs in the subspecies muralis or pubescent (villous) in the subspecies visianii] They may have from three to seven lobes,[6] but most often has five lobes The leaves are relatively thick and often blushed with purple on their undersides
Cymbalaria muralis has small flowers that strongly resemble those of a snapdragon They have sepals at the base of the flower that have lobes 1.5–3 mm long and are sharply pointed. The petals form a closed tube 3–5 mm long. The lower lip of the flower expanded upwards to block the tube of the flower similarly to the well known snapdragon flowers (palate inflated). Seven Hours Later
My last post was published seven hours ago. I’m hanging in there but really can’t wait for this crap to be over. I’m fasting ahead of a medical test and I am hungry. I barely have a stomach left after gastric bypass surgery, but what I have is really jonzin’ for a snack, know what I mean? No hunger pains yet, which is odd given that I get hunger pains all the time. Maybe my brain is trying to protect my stomach? Who knows.
I can’t eat today, but the birds can.

That is today’s photo a day challenge pic. Blurry backgrounds are fun. Bokeh.
The cats are in a state of hyper vigilance right now. There is a mouse in the house. It was in my home office earlier but it got away. In was later seen in our bedroom but I think it got away again. Both cats are on the hunt so it’s days are numbered. I will catch it and bring it outside if I can, but the feline avengers might not give me the opportunity.

Auch wenn des Winzers Weinreben noch eher kahl aussehen, so sind sie dieses Jahr besonders früh dran. Dank der herrlichen Sonne wachsen und gedeihen sie prächtig, ebenso wie die Gräser, Pflanzen und Blumen um sie herum. Da macht es nochmal deutlich mehr Spaß, den Sonnenuntergang mit Blick in Richtung Vogesen zu genießen.
