There are some amazing metal versions of video game music out there. Let's look at an oldie, Vomitron's version of the music from the classic NES game Life Force. This is one my favorite entries in my exercise playlist.

Our next #interview is now with @cpacaud !
Here are Christian's responses to 8 default questions:

And now our #wiki interview process calls for more questions and follow-ups from **you**. :)
So far, #VideoGames and #videogamemusic (#vgm) get a strong representation (understandable in an interview with a video game #composer).
Questions asked so far were about background, current practice, and preferences towards games and music.
Thanks to the evolvements in PS3 emulation, i can finally replay LittleBigPlanet 1 + 2, the games that definded my childhood to early teens.
And i mostly forgot how great their respective soundtracks were - there are lots of cuts worth mentioning, but especially the music of Passion Pit and The Go! Team was era-defining for me! Real coming if age music.

TIL that some of my music was used in a game called Onverse, which I hadn't heard of, but was apparently some kind of "virtual world" thing. I got a message from someone who said that the track is a "core memory of [their] childhood" from hearing it in part of the game (which I gather was called Splatball). How cool! Definitely made my day. This is the track in question ("More Than I Thought"):
Passion / Lament
This definition of the word "Passion" really resonated with me while I was thinking on titles for this piece: a willingness to suffer for what you love.

Lennart Östman – “Foreign Ports”
A bright and engaging electronic exploration that incorporates elements of chamber music, IDM, and film/games soundtracks to excellent effect.

I still love this song.
It evokes the caves, the crystals, the dust... the crystal hunters.

Davide Baducci – Silk Dust OST
A soundtrack to a retro styled text adventure game that blends grand orchestral pieces, piano-led tunes and a few more overtly electronic tracks.

For #VGMWednesday, I planned on posting some Christopher Larkin music. Yesterday was the anniversary of him releasing the soundtrack for TOHU (2021) on Bandcamp and I think I'll celebrate by showcasing a track. Here's Fish Home. Enjoy. :)
*Edited because I misread the year. Whoops!
This week's Other People's Music is a lovely batch of weird experimental music, ambient synth pop and an orchestral score to a text game. Read about them, and hear them, here:

Music so good, even the creators of the system think it's impossible for their machine to produce this sound
Cerulean Sky
Fantasy RPG overworld theme. This one is kind of bouncy and lighthearted.
