My grandmother grew up in Nazi Germany, a teenager during the war. A lifelong pacifist, she nonetheless taught all of us younger folk in her circle that in the end, even survival has a moral value. If all else fails, you have a moral obligation to at least survive.

Watching the vote tally on the second vote for Speaker of the House and I am honestly surprised Rep Jim Jordan (R) didn't sway any of the 20 #republican votes from yesterday's vote to his side.

I mean dayumm!
He actually had THREE more defectors from yesterday and one of them voted for #HakeemJeffries (D)

EDIT: Correction. The clerk must have miscounted when I hit publish. There was not a 213th vote for Jeffries.

With the official count for voting on the speaker of the house documented, I'm rather amused that Hakeem Jeffries (D) earned 12 more votes than Jim Jordan's (R) 200 .

I know it's just the mathematics of the number of GOP reps not voting for Jim Jordan because they're trying to not get primaried.

But still... kinda fun.

Ohio began early voting on Issue 1 about a week ago and is the only state taking up abortion rights this fall.

This is the second time Ohioans will take up abortion rights this year.

Hopefully #Ohio voters will put this to bed and get rid of the barbaric, draconian law that forced a ten year old little girl to go to neighboring Indiana get the care she needed. The law would have forced her to carry the pregnancy to term.
