How do you know if it's her or his if *il suo* is all you have?

Also, the way long ō is pronounced ... compleanno sounds a lot like cūmpleano in Spanish.

Looking fwd to making an Italian cabbage & cheese soup for #supper tonight. We've made it for 25yrs, since seeing it briefly on a TV pgm where they showed a chef in the #Italian Alps making it.

Never got the name of the dish back then but it seems similar to "Zuppa alla Valpellinese" except that there wasn't an oven-based step to finish it, rather just stove-top with a slow simmer.

Basically it's a soup of gooey cheese, broth, bread, browned butter and cabbage.
