Here's a #hiddenGem for the #ps1

Nanotek Warrior (1997) is an on-rail shooter. It's arcadey and easy to get into, but there's a lot of nuance to the controls to reward mastery. The graphics are classic #Playstation and hold up very well due to being abstract. The techno soundtrack isn't quite as good as say Wipeout, but it still matches the action well. I suspect this will be a lot of fun on #retroGaming handhelds.

I discovered a bit of a #HiddenGem on #Netflix tonight. (Or maybe everyone else knows about it and I'm just out of the loop.) It's a film called #TheKitchen, directed by Kibwe Tavares and #DanielKaluuya. It feels eerily too close to our own world to call it a #dystopia, but it also shows how #joy, #love, #solidarity, and #family are possible even in the darkest of times if we commit ourselves to a collectivist vision for community.

If you like #dark, emotional films and are up for something #bleak but deeply meaningful, I highly recommend it! I especially loved how much of the story is told visually. Every shot is so packed with detail that I feel like I need to watch it again to pick up on what I missed.

If you do decide to watch it, CWs for themes of racism, class inequality and oppression, displacement, police violence, surveillance, death and abandonment.

I'm #curious, so a #poll. Have you ever heard the #song "Space Queen" by 10 Speed?
It's one of those songs that is very little known, probably because this trio's #album was never officially released due to a reorganisation at the record label. Oddly enough, it did get some air-time on Dutch radio because a Dj loved the song. I think it's a fun, awesome and unique song.
