Tamerlane's breakdown in ep. 6 of #TheFalloftheHouseofUsher is referencing Poe's story William Wilson (the name of her husband character in the show). In the original WW story, the main character has a double or doppelgänger who slowly destroys his life over years.

Though, in the end, there may have been no double, but a representation of his own self-destructive spirit. Self destruction is a theme in many of Poe's works. #EdgarAllanPoe #williamwilson
