On the power of unconscious thinking:
As a former musician, I am well-acquainted with how ideas seem to come from nowhere.
Indeed, I have spoken often in my journals about how solutions to various philosophical problems seem to come to me from out of the blue.
And as far as I’m concerned, in this sense, as an aspiring thinker, I never stopped being a musician.
Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Freud, Jung - all have expressed their support in one way or another for the belief in unconscious thinking.
But don’t take my word, take Albert Einstein’s word:
"The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what you will, the solution comes to you and you don’t know how or why.”
