Some of my scares from just one night at our #hauntedattraction several years ago in my Hellraiser scene. I'm Uncle Frank popping out from behind a shredded, bloodied mattress chained to the wall. I'm just holding on to a tree to lean out and pull myself back over and over and over again, all October. It's the most fun ever.

@rottenartist Okay, but if you ever do it again, do it primarily for men. I always see women screaming/jumping on these type of videos because the haunters usually go for them, but I KNOW some men must be 'fraidy cats, too
@stina_marie Excellent point! That's something I taught my performers to do: don't limit yourself to the women, go for the guys.
In those videos that I edited together from my old scene, I was mainly trying to hit the middle of the groups. That's generally where the most scared people are located. If you can scare the middle of the group, their reaction will scare the front and back of the group. But very often women will be in the middle of the group, putting their boyfriends at the front.
@stina_marie The other problem is that when I did capture a scare on camera, guys have a tendency to keep their reactions bottled up, so it makes for boring video. In this video, I hit two groups, a girl first, then a guy. Both times I was just going for the person closest to my pop out spot, but you can see the difference in reactions. https://youtu.be/Ia0pYsLBvyM
@stina_marie Buuuuut, your point is valid. Haunters REALLY got for girls because they usually give good screams and we live on screams. In that Hellraiser scene, I was stuck in that one spot all night all weekend so I challenged myself to try and get guys, girls, tall, short, front of the group, back of the group, etc. just to keep on my toes. It's just that I only got so much video out of it.
@stina_marie I was trying to dig out some more examples, but now I'm concerned I can't find the rest of my files from that year. I really hope I didn't accidentally lose a month's worth of video data. At least I still have some on YouTube. Here's another one: https://youtu.be/P0TAicgNXvE /
@rottenartist Oh, I hope you find them!!!
@rottenartist Yeah, that's a good point. I forget I have a bunch of weirdo friends that LOVE being scared (and have been the haunters, too) so they go all in [with the enthusiasm & reactions]. Most guys I'm sure try to "play it cool," especially if they're with their girlfriends.
No matter- thank you for your service as a fright-maker. It's a thankless job a lot of the time, and there is a definite art to it. I enjoyed these videos tremendously.
@stina_marie My haunter friend Kathryn makes the point that when you scare a guy, they often just freeze for a second, exhale, then under their breath say, "you got me".
