I have discovered a whole new world of flavor. YOU HAVE BEEN LIED TO. MSG provides a flavor the Japanese call 'umami' (which means pleasant flavor)
Add it to pasta, add it to potatoes, add it to chicken, add it to pork, pretty much everything but red meat. If you haven't cooked with MSG, you don't actually know how delicious food can be.
@jacklaridian We tend to use seaweed for an umami taste in our cooking - similar savoury flavour profile, only without the negatives often associated with eating msg (headaches, allergic reactions etc)
@mrowster
According to my research, only a small percentage of the population are actually allergic to MSG. No one in my house is, so we're good.
