Weird to watch so many more people flocking to Blueskay lately and praising it for being . . . what has been here on Mastodon for a long long time IMO.
@SaltiredPopcorn
Can't stand blooski. Told someone I didn't like how feeds work and they were like, just don't follow a controversial feed like MCU or Star Wars.
@jacklaridian @SaltiredPopcorn What I said was that if you're annoyed by all the negative comments on the Marvel (or whatever) feed, maybe instead of following the feed you should make a personal post about it and converse with people that reply instead.
Meaning, if you follow an extremely popular feed with extremely polarizing opinions, you're going to see a lot of posts from people that don't share yours.
@stina_marie @SaltiredPopcorn
Well, since all I see is negativity over there, I'll just stay off the site altogether. I don't see that kind of bs over here, so I know it's possible. Also, I'm not talking about people with different opinions, I'm talking about people who just like to shit on things other people like.
Also also, sorry for the subtweet (subtoot?). I'm glad you find joy at bluesky. Each to their own.
@jacklaridian @SaltiredPopcorn I think what it's really shown me is how personal social media preference is, and how some sites just "click" with people, and different sites do the same with others.
I LOL'd when I saw your comment. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion, and can also feel free to subtoot me whenever... but just know that if I see it and I feel like it didn't correctly paraphrase what I intended, I'm going to clarify/elaborate
@stina_marie @SaltiredPopcorn
You know I have nothing but respect for you and I know we share a lot of opinions, but yeah this is where we diverge. I guess I prefer the fedi because I'm of too many minds to put all of my thoughts into one account, so I use multiple accounts and funnel them into one place. I get enough engagement to keep me happy and rarely see the bullying here that I've seen elsewhere. It just feels cozy here, I don't know.
@jacklaridian @SaltiredPopcorn We can totally agree to disagree, it's fine!
I DO get the impetus to have several different accounts for various facets of one's personality. If I wasn't already invested in the accounts I have I would do that. It would make it easier to compartmentalize & organize my brain & discussions, etc.
