Badger AF (he/him) DEMOCRACY<p>While I'm talking about <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/VelociPastor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VelociPastor</span></a>, I would be remiss if I left out one of the reviews that tells you it's The Greatest Story Ever Told™ - the dialogue.</p><p>Sayeth the review: " "We'll pick you up after priest college," is probably the greatest line in the movie. I give major respect to a film that does not make any attempt to do research into things are referencing."</p><p>And of course, it has an awesome soundtrack. Russ Burlingame<p>So, they just released a new trailer for <a href="https://c.im/tags/TheMeanOne" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TheMeanOne</span></a>, a movie that parodies "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and transforms it into a generational slasher movie a la the new Halloween franchise.</p><p>I have one major issue with it.</p><p>They choose to name the heroine "Cindy You-Know-Who." Unless they are going full-on <a href="https://c.im/tags/velocipastor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>velocipastor</span></a> and the movie is a lot sillier and more fun than it seems like at first glance, I hate it. Not least of all because there's an easy fix. Just use Cindy Hu and cast an Asian-American actor in the role. If you feel like you must have some funny middle name or nickname for the purposes of parody, then "yoo hoo" or "boo hoo" would work just fine -- the latter being especially appropriate since the character's parents were murdered by the Mean One.</p><p>I don't know. Good-Bad Movies<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/@grryboy" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>grryboy</span></a></span> <span class="h-card"><a href="https://mas.to/@WalkinDude78" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>WalkinDude78</span></a></span> oh man that's an excellent choice!! I'd argue that they knew what they were doing (they winked at the camera a few times), but having a low budget goes such a long way for having a lot of fun while filming and we get that joy when watching it 📽️🍿</p><p>A lot of times films try too hard to be "bad" and they don't translate well (usually sequels of cult classics). But <a href="https://socel.net/tags/Velocipastor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Velocipastor</span></a> made me laugh out loud throughout the whole dang movie 😂🦖✝️</p>
