Today's review! Peppermint Mocha Kisses by BA Maxwell:

"A sweet, low angst romance between Randy and Eli. Randy has always kept himself apart. Eli has been crushing on Randy for a while... A recommended read. I hope to read more like this from them in the future. Four stars."

Deep & Heavy episode of #Amicus #podcast #DahliaLithwick @Dahlialith

“In the first of Amicus’ summer series of conversations about books and podcasts that have helped us look at the Supreme Court from a different angle, Dahlia Lithwick is joined by #JoelAnderson, host of Season 8 of Slate’s #SlowBurn podcast: #BecomingJusticeThomas. They talk about the experiences and people who helped shape Justice Thomas’ worldview and how deeply his jurisprudence is rooted in a kind of “cruel to be kind” ethos from his childhood. And why he was so blind to the challenges and suffering of so many Black women in his life.
Next, Dahlia talks to #HeatherMcGhee, Author #TheSumofUs: WHAT RACISM COSTS EVERYONE AND HOW WE CAN PROSPER TOGETHER, about her books and podcast, and what they can teach us about a Supreme Court that is inclined to frame the world as zero-sum.”

3. Alpha (Ghost MountainPack #1) by audrey Faye.

This is the beginning of a wonderful series that deals with a shifter pack that has gone through extensive trauma at the hands of their alpha and others he led. He gets merked in the first chapter, not a spoiler.
The person who kills him assumes control of the pack and there is so much healing to be done. It is so beautiful.
CW for child endangerment and graphic fight in first chapter.

The movie THE WIND expanded on what I *thought* was the entire premise, in a way I did NOT expect. And while I would've enjoyed the movie I assumed this was going to be, I'm not mad at it for going in the direction it did. Demonic wind, indeed.
Now I need to see the 1928 silent version.
