I feel like if I’m going to find you anywhere, it’s here on mastodon, and I feel like we should stick together and figure out the whole strength-in-numbers thing.

A lot of people think I’m unhappy because I’m quiet. I'm not unhappy - I just appreciate silence in a world that never stops talking…

Is there a term for a personality trait(?) that makes a person want to avoid personal pronouns for the self, particularly more than once, in a given message?

Trying to figure out of this is more of a component of being #neurodivergent, #introverted, or something else.

It leads to frequent and unusual sentences that start with the verb instead of a subject, which gets one more side-eye than might be preferred.

Doesn't really extend to others. Just don't like directly referencing myself.

I am what I would consider a pretty boring dad to five kiddos, from Lawrence KS. I'm most definitely #introverted, and in a past life I'd much rather be #reading a good book or playing some #JRPG on whatever system is current.

These days, I can generally be found at home, doing the #WorkFromHome thing as an application #SystemAdministrator dealing with lots of #OracleCloud fun (...not).

Downtime has me learning #clojure, #typescript, #angular, #emacs and basically anything shiny that catches my eye.

I've been #keto for the last few years, doing maintenance mode for most of that time, with no plans to change any time soon. It's a lifestyle for me, not a diet.

I've got a handful of accounts on the #fediverse, one of which is my single user #mastodon instance. I'm trying different things out to see which I prefer most.

Before we had a child I didn't realise how #introverted I am.

I am an extraverted #introvert, which means that there is an extraverted aspect to my personality that can come out when I have had enough time to recharge my battery while doing introverted things (being alone in a quiet environment, focusing on something).

Before we had a child I usually had plenty of time to do these things, so with my social battery fully charged, I was able to do lots of extraverted things. Both myself and others may have underestimated my introversion in that period.

Having a child means that I have much less time for recreation and that my days are filled with more social interaction than before (going to the playground etc.). So my social battery is rarely well-charged, which means that I hardly ever feel like doing extraverted things. I tend to use all the free time I have for doing introverted things.

Since I never got to make an #introduction back on fosstodon, I'll take my recent migration here as an excuse to do that now:

Hi! I'm Talia, also known as Wii. I'm, at the time of writing this, 29 years old #nonbinary #trans-girl living in #Germany. Only one of those things is "just a phase".

I exist somewhere between German and Spanish culture and am generally quite #introverted, although I do have my extroverted moments once I warm up to people.

I'll never turn down a conversation about anime, gaming, programming, coffee, tea (specially tea), cocktails and cooking.

Anything computers can be considered my hobby, but I generally prefer the side of telling them what to do with the occasional DIY project thrown in for good measure. Sadly I am hated by all printers regardless of how many dimensions.
