I can feel my anxiety rumbling. it's a physical sensation when I suppress my negative thoughts.

I've done my best to avoid the politics.

But the cost of living continues to creep up. I've tried to earn extra money freelancing and doing small jobs in addition to my regular full-time job but it just doesn't seem like enough.

I'm dreading this spring thaw and rainfall warnings. I can't afford another weather-related disaster...

Such troubling times. How do you cope?

Elderly lady blew me a kiss!

I was out on my lunch. As I returned to my parked car, I noticed a large SUV struggling to reverse out of their parking spot.

I walked in front of the SUV and calmly waved and talked the tiny lady through backing out and turning the wheel and exiting.

Before she drove off, she smiled and blew me a kiss :)

That could be someone's grandma or mom.

I hope they tell the story about the handsome brown man with beard who helped her - emphasis on handsome of course!

I've run into a slight problem.

I recently replaced my old headphones with a new pair of the same make and model.

But these newer ones fit snug and aren't as comfortable as my old ones. It's actually painful after a while.

So now I'm rawdogging office 'culture' with no headphones on. I'm hearing every phone call, every conversation, every high-heel footstep. Not sure if that's more painful than wearing the headphones.

Worked from home yesterday so contractors could come in and replace the carpet from our flooded basement (finally) and March Break fun with the kid.

Back in the office today. See I don't mind coming in here when I have the option to. Not when I'm forced to.

Big difference, Ya know?

It's #FollowFriday - With the current toxic political climate, I find myself looking for a break from the chaos and disorder.

Reach out if you're posting non-political content.

I'm a 40-ish y/o married dad in the Toronto area. I tell jokes and whine about being a homeowner. I also suffer from crippling depression which I self-medicate with memes and occasional art.

Just dropped another $1,000 on carpet installation.

The total damage of our leaky basement from a super wet summer is $8,000+ now.

$5,000 - outdoor basement waterproofing
$2,000 - indoor mold removal and floor/drywall refinishing
$1,000 - carpet / underpad replacement

And this was considered a "small" job by most contractors we called. A couple who declined the job because it wasn't worth it to them.

Homeownership is wild... don't buy a house. Get a condo with amenities and no shoveling snow or cutting grass and underground parking
