An early, perfect example of Neue Deutsche Film, cinematic thanks to <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/RobbyM%C3%BCller" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>RobbyMüller</span></a>&#39;s observant eye and Handke&#39;s precise language. And a very slow burning road movie, a Taxi Driver in reverse if you will, that doesn&#39;t suffer the neurotic showmanship of its Hollywood counterpart &gt; <a href="https://write.underworld.fr/settima/die-angst-des-tormanns-beim-elfmeter-1972" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">write.underworld.fr/settima/di</span><span class="invisible">e-angst-des-tormanns-beim-elfmeter-1972</span></a></p><p><a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/film" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>film</span></a> <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/cinema" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>cinema</span></a> <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/FilMastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>FilMastodon</span></a> @film@a.gup.pe</p>
DORO<p>It’s the annual re-watch of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ParisTexas" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ParisTexas</span></a>, my favorite <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/WimWenders" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WimWenders</span></a> film. As masterful as Wenders’ direction is, the film would be unthinkable without cinematographer <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RobbyM%C3%BCller" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RobbyMüller</span></a>. For me, he remains one of the greatest masters, who understood how to work with natural light like no other and whose compositions and way of working shaped the films he worked on. — <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/CineMastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CineMastodon</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/FilmMastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FilmMastodon</span></a></p>
Paul A. J. Vividly remember seeing this on its first release. <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/RobbyMuller" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RobbyMuller</span></a>'s cinematography is a dream. </p><p>The Criterion disc includes a lovely gallery of production stills, + the readings of <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/WilliamBlake" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WilliamBlake</span></a>'s poetry by Mili Avatal, Alfred Molina, + Iggy Popo accompanied by Jarmusch's evocative black-and-white production recce stills are superb. I adore this film, though GHOST DOG is still my fave Jarmusch</p>
