I love vampire films. There's such a wide variety of them, given the basic premise. The most interesting is Andy Warhol's version from 1974, Blood for Dracula, in which he's a pathetic creature dying for want of virgin blood in Transylvania. His familiar takes him to Italy with the coffin strapped on top of their car, to meet an impoverished nobleman who claims to have three virgin daughters.

Just watched Gladiator II (or "GladIIator" as the title card called it) and if you liked the original this got all of that with added daytime soap opera plot points.

letterboxd.comA ★★★ review of Gladiator II (2024)GladIator is a movie I like but I keep forgetting that it exist. I don't have any real complaints, it's just nothing I think about. I guess I'm just not one of those guys who thinks about the Roman Empire that much. I have already forgotten GladIIator (such a stupid title card), but I still don't have any major complaints. Well, besides how it was shot. You can do pretty much anything these days with a Ridley Scott budget on a film and everything here is designed well - but it lacks the limitations he had on the original film.

I like to say that I am at a loss of words, but I could absolutely go on about this for HOURS if you let me. I could go on for an hour just about the use of closeups here. How the foley artist should just get an Oscar mailed to them right now. Demi Fucking MOORE. I just don't want to spoil anything, I just want you to trust me and go see the film if you haven't seen it.

Just saw my 3rd Channing Tatum film this year: Blink Twice.

And I loved it?

The trailer made it look like some kind of Knives Out-whodunnit but it is much more of a Get Out experience.
