Xillin (and Ze)<p>Turning 2Layer into a sprawling grid of scenes. Decided to give some UI controls. Need to make it so untouched / cleared canvas don't get saved. I have a fold of 56 empty images to hunt down and delete from testing things...</p><p><a href="https://scalie.zone/tags/love2d" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>love2d</span></a> <a href="https://scalie.zone/tags/lua" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lua</span></a></p>

matt sephton<p>Today <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/aquaplane" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>aquaplane</span></a> weighs 1000 lines of code. It's neat cute code and I'm kinda sad to break the barrier. The shader is an extra 100 lines of code. I've not done any real optimisation so far. Also: check out the bullet power-ups in the video! <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/love2d" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>love2d</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/shader" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>shader</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/gamedev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gamedev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/indiedev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>indiedev</span></a></p>
Wuzzy<p>In the last two weeks, I made a computer adaptation of the historic <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/BoardGame" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BoardGame</span></a> The Landlord’s Game (which is <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/PublicDomain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PublicDomain</span></a>). It is the predecessor of <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/Monopoly" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Monopoly</span></a>.</p><p>It is clunky and ugly, but it almost works. This is the first time I used <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/L%C3%96VE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LÖVE</span></a>, and it shows. 😅</p><p>The game logic is surprisingly complex with many obscure features.</p><p>▶️ Link: <a href="https://codeberg.org/Wuzzy/Landlords_1904" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">codeberg.org/Wuzzy/Landlords_1</span><span class="invisible">904</span></a><br>(read the README otherwise you won't understand a thing)</p><p><a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/L%C3%96VE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LÖVE</span></a> <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/L%C3%96VE2D" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LÖVE2D</span></a> <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/TheLandlordsGame" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TheLandlordsGame</span></a> <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/Landlords1904" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Landlords1904</span></a> <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/Monopoly" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Monopoly</span></a> <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/BoardGame" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BoardGame</span></a> <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/GameDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GameDev</span></a></p>
Jesse Jurman<p>Another year, another entry for the annual Games for Blind Gamers game jam - this year, I spent time making a template for LÖVE / Love2d games to tap into the browser's screen reader support. It was super fun to build, and great to have participated and learn more about making accessible experiences.</p><p><a href="https://github.com/JRJurman/love-a11y-template" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/JRJurman/love-a11y-</span><span class="invisible">template</span></a></p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/a11y" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>a11y</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/love2d" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>love2d</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/GameDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GameDev</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/accessibility" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>accessibility</span></a></p>

I don't know how how to handle that rim with complex house shapes with the current simple autotiling system. bunnyhero+<p>one of my ancient iphone games will be delisted in 90d if it’s not updated (nbd: it’s a really simple game jam game i published for fun years ago). i’m going to take this opportunity to rewrite it in <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/love2d" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>love2d</span></a> (it was originally in <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/cocos2dx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cocos2dx</span></a> but i don’t want to touch c++ again if i can help it lol)</p>

Been a bit busy with uni and work but have made some progress.

The inventory is now able to hold consumables and equipment. Also, the player can do equip or quaff directly from the ground. Results in six actions that I have now defined and implemented for the basic functionalities. The fight with the equipment works, but the effects of the consumables are still missing.

The Inspector and the Inventory Viewer have also been added to the UI.

Have a nice Friday!
