J. R. DePriest :verified_trans: :donor: :Moopsy: :EA DATA. SF:<p>"Horror-comedy", when done well, is the best genre of horror. You get the tension of horror with the release of comedy and, since it's still horror, you get fake-outs galore in both directions.<br>For examples:</p><ul><li>An American Werewolf in London</li><li>Creepshow</li><li>Gremlins</li><li>Critters</li><li>The Lost Boys</li><li>Evil Dead 2</li><li>Night of the Creeps</li><li>Arachnophobia</li><li>In the Mouth of Madness</li><li>Slither</li><li>Jennifer's Body</li><li>Shaun of the Dead</li><li>The Cabin in the Woods</li></ul><p>Also everything by "Stuart Gordon" and the entire "Masters of Horror" series.</p><p>Horror-comedy is a really nice way to introduce someone to the horror genre.</p><p>They make great "date movies"!<br>The first horror movie I showed my future wife was "Candyman". Yes, she basically jumped in my lap (which was nice) but it did not endear her to the genre.<br>"An American Werewolf in London", however, left her sad about David's unearned fate and how Alex had to watch him die. Still debating over whether he recognized her or not; whether he was truly going to attack or if he was lunging on purpose so they would shoot him. <br>Both movies have a doomed love subplot, but one was accessible to her and one was definitely not.</p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/HorrorComedy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HorrorComedy</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/HorrorMovies" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HorrorMovies</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/HorrorFan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HorrorFan</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Movies" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Movies</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/FakeoutsGaloreIsMyDragName" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FakeoutsGaloreIsMyDragName</span></a></p>
