So time to jump in to my dealers room hauls from #Otakon2023 yesterday. I forgot to post them last night.
I grabbed all the City Hunter anime stuff I could find on Blu-Ray at Discotek, as well as 2 Cat's Eye seasons, and the Miss Machiko collection.
Lupin the Third vs Cat's Eye was okay... nothing amazing. Cat's Eye was relegated to 2nd fiddle in the movie which kind of sucked. Predictable, meh animation, but decent fun.

The directors were behind the Godzilla animated trilogy, a project I honestly enjoyed, but there the stilted CGI were compensated by an interesting plot and narrative, while here the story is formulaic and feels like something we've already seen hundred times. The character design does not work, also because it cannot properly serve the more comedic, sexy, and light scenes. The only part I save is the action piece on the train and the...opening and closing...
