Remembering Simone Therese Fernande Simon (1910-2005), the mesmerising French actress, born in Marseille . She worked memorably as bewitching characters for Robert Wise, Max Ophuls, Jean Renoir and William Dieterle, and was extraordinary as the sympathetic Serbian cat woman Irena in Jacques Tourneur's masterful (1942) and, in ghostly form, its exquisite sequel (1944).

#CatPeople #CatGuardians #CatsOfMastodon Need advice. My mom is a new #CatGuardian & wants to know if I might be a good companion for another cat some day.
I'm a neutered 1 yr.+ 8 mo. old #ClassicTabby. I met this cat outside my #Catio. Am I being a well behaved/mannered boi? We visited together for at least 3 min. Then he/she walked about 10 ft. away & rolled on the ground, showing me some belly. I watched. Nobody hissed.Do you think I could be a friend to another cat?

I am a new cat guardian for this
1 yr.+ 8 month old, neutered boi #StevieTheCat. Thinking possibly providing a cat companion for him but wonder if he is a good candidate for that. Here's an encounter between him & a free roaming, gender unknown neighborhood cat, on his Catio. Lasted more than 3 minutes. No hissing or other signs of aggression on either cat's part.

“Cat People” gets a lot of attention for the jump scares but it’s an excellent example of “no one takes women seriously” cinema which was a plot device for many, many decades. I also really like how this movie demonstrated the difference between a strong foundation for a relationship vs. a weak one.

A lot more to talk about here than the Lawton Bus.

www.filmhydra.comCat People (1942) 😻😻😻😻This low-budget, high-quality suspense film from 1942 blends jump scares with sexual anxiety and gender politics to create a deceptively simple movie people are still arguing about today. Starring Simone Simon, Tom Conway, Jane Randolph, Kent Smith.
