I’m probably weird, but laundry and dishes are soothing for me. I take 2 minutes putting stuff into a machine and 5 taking it out and putting it away and in between the machine does all the work? It feels like cheating!
It’s (waves hands at the rest of the apartment) everything else that gets overwhelming.
(And yes, I know I’m privileged to have a dishwasher and washing machine in my apartment. I just have to spread the gospel of enjoying whatever easy wins one can find.)
@morfydd I'm happy to know there are people who enjoy these things! We have a dishwasher but since there's only two of us it seems pointless/wasteful to use it.
I don't mind the actual ACTS of doing these two things, per se- like you said they really aren't that big of a deal- I just resent that it's a constant, never ending cycle. 
Ah, there are only two of us too, but somehow I manage to dirty every dish in the place when cooking, so it's always going. Also the kitchen sink is literally an IKEA bar sink so handwashing dishes is no fun.
I get the non-ending cycle thing - for me it's vacuuming (shudder).
