I don't like torture porn either. I can only deal with it if it really makes sense within the plot and is presented subtly. Otherwise it tends to have the opposite effect on me. Disgust and revulsion, but I can't take it seriously any more. That's why I avoid such films. I haven't seen a single Hostle and have been struggling with Martyrs for years.
