Should I Stay or Should I Go: Qualia and the "What It’s Like" properties of human existence.
It is truly a gift - a gift of the Goddess Wisdom! – to live in a world where information is realized both physically and phenomenologically, from colors, smells, sounds, and tastes, to pleasures and pains, from orgasms to soregasms, to the felt sense of (unified) self that experiences these qualities.
With this added dimension comes a KNOWLEDGE without which existence would truly be a bleak, colorless, meaningless “zombie” prison, one in which we could neither possess the desire to CONSCIOUSLY leave or stay.
Should I Stay - the Nietzschean sentiment,
Or
Should I Go - the sentiment of Buddhists, ancient Gnostics.
Either way, as a mystic, a world where mental properties are irreducible or not identical to physical ones, that do not supervene on physical states or properties in regular, lawlike ways, i.e., property dualism, or Russel’s Neutral Monism, or any even a form of substance dualism, e.g., Spinoza’s Psychic Parallelism or Leibniz’s Pre-established Harmony, makes my philosophical pussy soaking wet.
