I wonder if #Foucault would be enamored with the "libidinal liberation" of the Jan. 6th insurrection? The kind of moral relativism/nihilism he seems to advocate, at least in his early days, can only lead to one thing if adopted whole hog: civil war and/or a national divorce.
Any “libidinal liberation” that includes the violation of others’ rights, or causing harm to another person, has to be considered off limits if it is to be tenable within a modern democratic egalitarian society.
In this respect, BDSM seems like a more viable and preferable option to such insurrections that traumatically violate the body politic and disrupt civil order.
If your idea of “libidinal liberation” includes authoritarian/fascist role play, then liberate yourself in the bedroom for Goddess’s sake
