Remembering Dame (Enid) Diana Elizabeth Rigg (1938-2020), the iconic Emmy / BAFTA / Tony Award-winning English stage, film and television actor, born in Doncaster #OnThisDay. At the RSC from 1959 and unforgettable as Emma Peel in #TheAvengers (1965-68), her 63-year career encompassed (among others) Bond, #DrWho, Game of Thrones, Dickens, Mrs Danvers, and Agatha Christie - but pictured here in drag with vengeful screen dad Vincent Price in the magnificent #TheatreOfBlood (1973).
@CineRequiem Saw Theatre of Blood on the big screen last year (with Victoria Price talking about her father!), and was a little stunned to see Diana Rigg appearing for all the world like Jeff Lynne.
